My name is Fama.

I was born in Dakar, and after living across cities and countries, I’m raising my son in Paris. 

He’s growing up far from Senegal for now, but it’s important to me that he speaks Wolof.

For me, language is more than words — it’s a tool for connection, a compass, an anchor. 

To his roots. To his family. To himself.

And so, I only speak to him in Wolof. 

At first, I thought that would be enough — especially since there were so few resources available: no stories, no books, no games. But as he grows, I realise how crucial it is to increase the touchpoints with the language.

Everything around him is in French, English, German… 

So I created Miri.

A project born at home, to support families like mine — and yours. 

Simple, beautiful, joyful tools to anchor Wolof in our daily family lives.
